What Is Easier, Controlling Our Time, Or Controlling Ourselves? Time Management Tips For Internet Home Businesses
This article, on Time Management Tips for Internet Home Businesses is an article that I wish I had been smart enough to write many years ago. I have written about 5,000 plus articles on Internet Home Businesses, some were good, some were so and the odd one was what I call a break through. This is a break through article. What makes an article a break through article is the fact that I finally have nailed a concept that I have written on many time before but have not been able to ' nail it '. Finally this article nails this concept, finally.
Internet Home Businesses need maximum value for their time, effort and resources, as we all do, the way to do that is to manage and control their time, proper Time Management. The issue is this, what are we controlling our time, or ourselves?
Time is something that marches on, with or without us. Take an extreme example, but one that proves this point. If you slept in every day for 5 days, let's say, for an extra 2 hours each day, that means you would have slept for 10 hours that week, hours in which you would have been up and probably working. Those 10 hours, did you manage that time, or did you manage yourself?
Those 10 hours rolled on by, whether you were up or not, the time expired and you received no value for them. That was your choice though, was it not, time had nothing to do with your decision, it was your choice to waste the time, or to use the time. You did use the time, you choose to sleep instead of working, which you would have done in that time slot normally. Since time marches on, whether we use it to work or sleep, it seems our choice to this question should be ourselves.
Controlling Ourselves Is Always Going To Be The Pivotal Factor In Our Success Or Failure
Time Management has always been the catch phrase, when in fact is should be Self Management through the use of Time. Sometimes, when you actually say it, it makes perfect sense. This is the reason why I say, Time Management is a Journey, Not a Destination. I was always trying to explain this saying; I knew what it meant, but I was never comfortable with my explanation. I knew that we would never be able to control our time, until we were able to control ourselves, because we were the ones directing what went on inside our time.
Sometimes it takes some time for the light bulb to go on. Time Management for Internet Home Businesses has always been a two-step process; I just was never able to clearly identify this fact, till now. There is the know part, and then there is the how to part, the application part. The know part is the systems, policies, tools, the methods needed to know what to do and when to do it. Believe it or not, that is about 5% of the process.
The hard part, the journey part, is putting what we should know, into practical day to day applications, turning theory into reality. Part of this process is taking responsibility for our actions and realizing that the decisions we make will be the deciding factors in what we accomplish and what we do not.
I operate a number of Internet Home Businesses and the days that I do well, are the days that I am able to discipline myself enough to take advantage of my time. The days that I do poorly, are the days that I do not discipline myself well enough to do what I know I should. As simple as that sounds, it boils down to that either or situation, I know what I need to do, I just have to be able to actually do it. I said it was simple, I never said it was easy.
